Duties and Responsibilities: Health Information Specialist helps organize and manage health information data. Process, maintain, compile, and report patient information for health requirements and standards in a manner consistent with the healthcare industry’s numerical coding system. This helps the doctor know what to do and what not to do to the patient.

Salary:  $47,620

Education: In order to find an entry level position, you need to be familiar with basic medical vocab and insurance coding techniques. Most employers well higher candidates with an Associates degree in health information management.
