April Fools’ Day

April Fools’ Day is annually on the first of April each year. On this day people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other. This day is not a national holiday, but is mostly popular in Canada, Europe, Australia, Brazil, and the United States. This originated back in ancient roman cultures. Romans celebrated their New Year’s around April first, while Europe celebrated New Years on March 25. Then in 1582, Pope Gregory xlll ordered a new calendar to replace the old Julian Calendar. Some Ideas to trick your friends are by inserting mayonnaise into your glazed donuts, or taping a horn on the side of your door so when you open the door, you’ll get a shocking surprise.

Health Science Librarian

Duties and Responsibilities: A health science librarian provides medical information through books, journals, pamphlets, tapes, multimedia presentation, and the Internet. They have direct impact on the quality of a patient care by helping physicians, allied health professionals, administrators, students, and faculty to learn about new developments.

Salary:  $58,000

Education: To enter the profession, at least a master’s degree in library or information sciences is required. A background in sciences, health sciences, or allied health can be helpful, but is not necessary.

CAMP NOU

The Camp Nou is a football stadium in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain which has been the home of Football Club Barcelona since 1957. With a seating capacity of 99,354  Camp Nou is the largest stadium in Europe and the 4th largest association football stadium in the world in terms of capacity. The construction of Camp Nou started on 28 March 1954 as Barcelona's previous stadium, Camp de Les Corts, had no room for expansion. Although originally planned to be called Estadi del FC Barcelona, the more popular name Camp Nou was used. The June 1950 signing of László Kubala, regarded as one of Barcelona's greatest players, provided further impetus to the construction of a larger stadium. Construction of Camp Nou began on 28 March 1954 before a crowd of 60,000 Barça fans and the stadium officially opened on 24 September 1957. Now the camp has grown more and more popular because of the team that it host FC Barcelona.

Volunteer Opportunities

1.  No One Should Die Alone, Need Volunteers: Silverado Hospice is looking for volunteers for their team. There patients are terminally ill and in their final stages of life. As there volunteer will be visiting patients in their own homes, in hospitals, or other nursing facilities. They will need people who would read a book or paper, play or listen to soothing music, talk and share stories.

Oncologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Oncologist are physicians trained in a variety of cancer diagnostic and treatment procedures. Diagnostic procedures include scanning techniques, such as X-ray and magnetic resonance imaging, as well as surgical operations and biopsies. They collect medical history and perform physical evaluation, maintain records, managing the work staff, and coordinating with other personal.

Education: Oncologist specialist must complete up to eight years of undergraduate and medical school education. The training can last up to three to five years depending on the specialty. Following training, all physicians must pass a licensing exam before they are able to practice.

Some medical uses that heliotherapy is used for is skin conditions, psoriasis, vitiligo, Acne vulgaris, cancer, wound healing, and other skin conditions.
