The Ultimate Choice

Of all the choices you ever make, there is one choice that supersedes all the others that will guide and help you in all your other choices. This one choice will help you to always make correct decisions. This one choice, The Ultimate Choice, is the keystone to being the best student and person you can possibly be. This one choice will forever affect you for good more than any other choice. The Ultimate Choice is:

To be a CTR Person – to Always CHOOSE THE RIGHT

This ultimate choice has helped me out throughout this school year because now I am a better person. Since I have switched to being a CTR person, I have good grades, I’m trustworthy, I’m kind, humble, respectful, and the list goes on. I have learned a lot since becoming a CTR student. One important thing that I learned about CTR is having good characteristics.

“Beautiful Character”

If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there would be peace in the world.

Conclusion: If there is beauty in character, there would be peace in the world.

This statement tells me that, in order to have peace in the world, we will need to build good character with each other and our self’s.

“I would prefer even to fail with honor then win by cheating.”

Sophocles

This statement goes out to everyone because instead of cheating and winning with dishonestly, and having to live with that memory for the rest of your life, there is no honor. The only way you well be honored is by playing fair, wise, and giving it all you got.
“Memorial Day”

Memorial Day is an American holiday celebrated on May 25 (Last Monday of May). On this day, we honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated back in the civil war and became an official holiday in 1971. Many celebrate the Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings or participating in paradise. I usually celebrate Memorial Day by having a family gathering and thanking the military for their protection and safety.

“The most important thing you will ever have is good values.”

Dennis Prager

This statement is very true because without any good values, you won’t be choosing the right. If you choose to have good values, you will be honest, trust worthy, work hard, work together, and the list goes on. For example, say you’re walking with your dog on a beach. All of a sudden your dog jumps in the ocean and starts to drown, but about 20 feet away, you see a Human of this society is drowning at the same time your dog is. Which one will you choose to Save? Will at first you might think to save your dog because he is yours and you care about him/her. At the same time you’re looking at the person and thinking, “I don’t even know him/her.” It’s funny that we still eat burgers that are made out of cows, you will never eat a human that was made out of a person would you? This is where good values would come along and you will make the right decision.

In this story Renee, mother of Megan, places an important part. Megan and her friend Lisa where both killed one night in a car accident when Eric Smallridge crashed into their car, while found guilty of two counts of DUI manslaughter. He was sentenced 22 years for this crime, which sounded right to Renee Napier, Meagan’s mom. But a few years later, a women came forward and asked the judge to reduce Eric’s sentence by half. She claimed Eric was truly sorry for his actions and deserved leniency. The judge obliged – partly because of what she said, but mostly because who she was. "I could hate him forever and the world would tell me that I have a right to do that," Renee says. "It's not going to do me any good, and it's not going to do him any good. I would grow old and bitter and angry and hateful. ... In my opinion, forgiveness is the only way to heal." She says it did heal her -- almost as much as it healed him. "It was like a burden," he says. "It was a weight off my chest. I no longer had to hide behind this facade." While still in custody, Eric agreed to speak at high schools with Renee, telling kids, as only they can, the consequences of drinking and driving. They both plan to continue doing this even after Eric's release.

Sara is a senior soft ball player at Western Oregon and has never hate a homerun in her whole baseball career. Until one day, it was the division 2 finals against Central Washington. All of this poor made her hit a homerun for her first time. It look like it was going to be her day, until it wasn’t. While she was running to first base, she fell to the ground. No one knew what happened, until they found out that she has a torn ACL. She was in pain and in shock as she crawled her way to first base. Her teammates couldn’t help her or else it would be called as an out. Then two players from central Washington Mallory and Liz thought of a way to help her out. They carried her all the way to Home Plate.
