Athletic Trainer

Duties and Responsibilities: Athletic Trainers work with all ages to prevent, diagnose, and treat injuries to muscle or bones. They work with both physicians and other healthcare professional’s when advanced medical care such as surgery or MRIs are required for diagnosis or treatment. Athletic trainers can provide only basic medical care since they are not doctors. They often work in sports teams and when a physician isn’t present, they can provide first aid or emergency care. They also apply bandages, braces, and tape to help athletes prevent or recover from injuries.   

Salary: $23,850 – $45,380

Education: At least a Bachelor’s Degree in athletic training in athletic training is required to become an athletic trainer. If you want to work in a university or professional athletic organization, you must have a Master’s. Before you enroll in an athletic training program, make sure that it’s accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of athletic training Education if your program is not accredited, your degree will not help you find employment after graduation.
