Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities:  An ear, nose, and throat specialist (EENT) is a physician trained in the medical, surgical treatment, and managing diseases of the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head. ENT is the oldest medical specialty in the United States.

Salary: $184,650 - $368,777

Education: To become an ENT Doctor, you must score well on the MCAT and earn a high undergraduate GPA, especially in the core science courses of biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics. Obtain clinical experiences that allow you to shadow an ENT doctor so that you will begin to understand the realities of the profession.  Apply to complete four years of medical school. Then, plan to spend anywhere from 3-5 years in an ENT residency program. After all the training, just remember to renew your license every 7- 10 years.

Electrocardiograph Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: Electrocardiogram technicians are usually employed in laboratories, hospitals or cardiologists' offices. They typically work 40 hours a week, although occasional weekend work might be required as well. ECG technicians employed with laboratories tend to put in longer hours. They might be required to be on call and come in at odd hours. ECG technicians should expect to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis as they move patients and equipment. They also should be prepared to work with patients who are suffering or have serious heart conditions.

Salary: $25,998 - $44,062

Education: To become a ECG Technician, you usually complete a certificate program or on job training. Courses in a certificate program may include electrocardiogram techniques, CPR, diagnostic electrocardiography, anatomy, and EKG analysis. Some states require an ECG Technicians license. Many employers seek electrocardiography technicians who hold certificates       (though not required).  

Winter Break

For winter Break, I spend time with my family and cousins who came from washington. We spend christmas cooking on the grill and laughing outside in the garage. We had Cake, Burgers, Hot Dogs, and chicken. Then we finally opened presents. I got new pairs of shoes and clothes. Then in New Years we did everything all over again. One thing that we did different was go hunting down for more food and drinks because we ran out. I was still thankful for all the gifts and surprises that I got from 2014. Now here comes new journeys in 2015 that I cant wait to encounter.

Registered Dietitian

Duties and Responsibilities: A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a nutrition professional who has met the strict educational and experiential standards set forth by the commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). There duties depend on the setting in which the RD works. Generally, RDs give advice and counsel others on food and nutrition. They explain nutrition issues to clients, assess the dietary and health needs of clients, develop meal plans for clients, explain the effects of these meal plans, promote nutrition through public speaking and community outreach programs, and keep abreast of the latest research in nutritional and food sciences.

Salary: $46,799 - $67,324

Education: A registered dietitian is a food and nutrition expert who has met academic and professional requirements including:

• Earned a bachelor’s degree with course work approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Coursework typically includes food and nutrition sciences, foodservice systems management, business, economics, computer science, sociology, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology and chemistry.
• Completed an accredited, supervised practice program at a health-care facility, community agency or foodservice corporation.
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Completes continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration.
