The Ultimate Choice

Of all the choices you ever make, there is one choice that supersedes all the others that will guide and help you in all your other choices. This one choice will help you to always make correct decisions. This one choice, The Ultimate Choice, is the keystone to being the best student and person you can possibly be. This one choice will forever affect you for good more than any other choice. The Ultimate Choice is:

To be a CTR Person – to Always CHOOSE THE RIGHT

This ultimate choice has helped me out throughout this school year because now I am a better person. Since I have switched to being a CTR person, I have good grades, I’m trustworthy, I’m kind, humble, respectful, and the list goes on. I have learned a lot since becoming a CTR student. One important thing that I learned about CTR is having good characteristics.

“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”

Thomas Carlyle

This statement helps me understand that a ship can’t be steered or directed without a rudder. Then how are you going to direct your life with no goals in it.

“Beautiful Character”

If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there would be peace in the world.

Conclusion: If there is beauty in character, there would be peace in the world.

This statement tells me that, in order to have peace in the world, we will need to build good character with each other and our self’s.
“The Six Pillars of character”

Trustworthiness: THINK "TRUE BLUE"

Ex: Be honest, Be reliable, Have the courage to do the right thing, Build a good reputation, Be loyal, Stand by your Family, Friends, and Country, Don’t deceive, cheat, or steal.

Respect: THINK "THE GOLDEN RULE"

Ex: Treat others with respect, Be tolerant and accepting of differences, Considerate of the feelings of others, Don’t threaten or hurt anyone, use good manners, not bad language.

Responsibility: THINK BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR A GARDEN OR FINANCES; OR AS IN BEING SOLID AND RELIABLE LIKE AN OAK

Ex: Do what you are supposed to do, Plan ahead, Think before you act, Be accountable, Set a good example.

Fairness: THINK OF DIVIDING AN ORANGE INTO EQUAL SECTIONS TO SHARE FAIRLY WITH FRIENDS

Ex: Play by the rules, Share, Be open minded, Forgive others, Treat other people equally.

Caring:  THINK OF A HEART

Ex: Be kind, Express Gratitude, Forgive others, Help people in need.

Citizenship: THINK REGAL PURPLE AS REPRESENTING THE STATE

Ex: Cooperate, Get involved in community affairs, Stay informed, and Obey rules and laws

“I would prefer even to fail with honor then win by cheating.”

Sophocles

This statement goes out to everyone because instead of cheating and winning with dishonestly, and having to live with that memory for the rest of your life, there is no honor. The only way you well be honored is by playing fair, wise, and giving it all you got.
“Memorial Day”

Memorial Day is an American holiday celebrated on May 25 (Last Monday of May). On this day, we honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated back in the civil war and became an official holiday in 1971. Many celebrate the Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings or participating in paradise. I usually celebrate Memorial Day by having a family gathering and thanking the military for their protection and safety.

“The most important thing you will ever have is good values.”

Dennis Prager

This statement is very true because without any good values, you won’t be choosing the right. If you choose to have good values, you will be honest, trust worthy, work hard, work together, and the list goes on. For example, say you’re walking with your dog on a beach. All of a sudden your dog jumps in the ocean and starts to drown, but about 20 feet away, you see a Human of this society is drowning at the same time your dog is. Which one will you choose to Save? Will at first you might think to save your dog because he is yours and you care about him/her. At the same time you’re looking at the person and thinking, “I don’t even know him/her.” It’s funny that we still eat burgers that are made out of cows, you will never eat a human that was made out of a person would you? This is where good values would come along and you will make the right decision.
